Love this post Jeremy! Took me back to those times! My kids are grown...38 and 42 and I've got 4 grandkids that I adore. Your post took me back to those very days! Treasure those moments;)...they go by way to fast!

Thanks for commenting.

The wisdom of a parent like you reminding me that these moments go by fast is why I try to be intentional with these moments and share them with others!

I want to look up when my kids are 38 and 40 knowing that I gave it all I had when they were younger!

I can over-plan a walk up the stairs! The simplicity of

finding a song,

singing loud,

and dancing bad is simple enough for even me not to over-plan.

My kids don’t remember how many bedtime negotiations they won, but they can still belt out Shake It Off with every wrong note I ever sang. Singing loud and dancing bad might be the most cost-effective parenting strategy I’ve got.

I don’t have kids but I love singing out loud with friends. So fun and so relaxing!! Thank you for sharing!

Love this post and approach! I feel very lucky that our household is filled with singing daily. I by no means have a good voice.. but I act like I don't care about that infront of my kids. I want them to be confident to express themselves in this way without any fear, so I try to get over my own self doubts and do the same. Their current listening (and singing out loud) ranges from the Moana 1 soundtrack to Madness - Baggy Trousers, The Specials - Message To You Rudy, Fontaines DC - Starburster and Elvis - Burning Love. They've also become Beatles obsessed recently. A big mix going on already!

That mix is amazing! Thanks for taking the time to comment.

We have the most fun passing around the phone to pick the next song and then belting it out when it is a good one!

My fear or my courage will be what they pick up on during these moments, and I (like you) want to model a lot more courage!

Brilliant. Love the picture you painted there! Sounds like a great environment to grow up in. Singing, self-expression, confidence building and fun!
