Hey, I really loved this post ... it totally resonated with me. The way you describe managing all those “tabs” in your head hits home. It reminded me of my own work on sleep deprivation and its links to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Both pieces are really about creating space for mental clarity, quieting the noise, and taking care of our minds. Seriously, this felt like the perfect read to pair with my research ... small daily resets really do make a big difference.

I really appreciate the comment. The amount of tabs open in my head is a great predictor of how bad my insomnia will be that night!

I hear ya 🙂 As a scientist who had to read, process, and run experiments that sometimes went 32 hours straight with no sleep, I ended up with so many tabs that I needed extra tabs just to keep track of my tabs :)) I had a real smile on my face reading through this, thinking about the funny little mess inside my brain 🙂

‘The tabs won’t stop unless I close them. Not on my phone (but that helps). On my mind.’ That line nailed it. Closing the mental tabs feels harder than closing Safari sometimes, but man, the peace it makes room for is worth it.

100%. It may feel difficult at times, but it really comes down to having a few clear actions to lean on.

Some days, one is all I need.

Other days, I draw on them all.
