Jeremy, I'm very glad you found a very productive way to deal with your Mom's passing that not only helped you with those emotions, but also led to a healthy habit that is good for the body and soul and fits you.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Nice article, Jeremy. I have my own version of rucking, 4 or so hours hiking in the Forest with my cameras and lenses, snacks and water. Combine the joy with the work out, great suggestions.

Don’t sleep on the weight of camera’s and lenses when hiking in the woods. My boys and I don’t take cameras on our hikes, but we love to focus in on the sight and sounds of animals, which definitely has a way of resetting the nervous system.

Nature lives around me, the ocean out front and the coast forest behind. My living is made from the nature I capture so it all works out in a nice blend. Take care.

I've said it before and I'll say it again... I can picture your content in a podcast! I listened to the audio of this article... it's podcast material with some minor tweaks!

I appreciate it! A little overwhelming to think about going that direction, but your conviction has me exploring it! Thanks for the push.

That line hit me like a logbook entry I didn’t know I needed. Sometimes movement isn’t about chasing fitness goals but shaking loose the weight you cannot see. Love how you wove grief, science, and faith together here.

Really appreciate you reading and taking the time to reply.

You nailed it, sometimes movement is less about calories and more about shaking off the invisible weight.

Way cheaper than therapy, though maybe not as fun as snacks!

Glad this one LANDED for you.

Snacks are still undefeated though. Maybe we need a hybrid program: push-ups with pretzels.
