This is such good advice, especially at this time of year when New Year's resolutions are fading into memories. Incorporating into existing daily routines is a great strategy! Thanks for this article.
Thanks so much for the comment! Incorporating into existing routines, especially while living in a house with three middle school boys, helps it require little lift with maximum repetition.
Exactly. I try to remind myself that 10 small wins over a couple of weeks is better than a giant win every month, especially when the giant win is next to impossible to achieve.
I think bringing your kids along also helps. I wrote in a note a few nights ago that my youngest's last words going up the stairs every night is, "Ready whenever you are, Daddy." He is reminding me we have to do prayers before he goes to sleep. Smaller rhythms help build bigger rhythms.
Absolutely. Kids are like having a great workout partner without anyone yelling at you for one more rep. When they start leading the rhythm, you know it is taking roots.

You’re using the same word I love using, rhythm. Small rhythms make a huge difference!
And we should never feel like we have to do everything at once. One small win at a time will set us up for much success for the long term.
